Development Assistant
Are you passionate about transforming compelling true stories into gripping scripted content and documentaries?
Project Brazen is looking for a talented Development Assistant to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis. As a multi-platform journalism studio, we uncover unbelievable true stories from around the world, spanning crime, corruption, business, conflict, scandal, entertainment, and much more. We’re seeking a creative individual to help develop our podcasts and initial research materials into compelling treatments for film and TV adaptations.
Key Responsibilities
- Transforming podcast scripts and research documents into compelling top lines and engaging treatments for scripted and documentary adaptations
- Contributing to the production of pitch decks and taster tapes
- Collaborating with colleagues to identify stories which lend themselves to scripted development, including stories from Brazen’s back catalogue
- Developing a deep understanding of the content strategies of global commissioning teams at major streaming platforms and other distributors
- Presenting potential adaptations with creativity and enthusiasm during the pitch process
- Managing time and resources effectively across a slate of development ideas
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in developing treatments for scripted and documentary/factual content
- Excellent written skills and an ability to write to specific stylistic briefs
- Powerful creative vision and the ability to bring stories to life in the pitch process
- Proven understanding of what makes hit scripted and documentary shows and knowledge of current trends in film, television, and podcasting industries
- Thorough research skills to ensure ideas have a strong ‘why now’ and journalistic integrity
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with the production of pitch decks and taster/sizzle tapes
- Serious passion for TV & film, driven by a love of storytelling
This position is remote and works with a global team (from Singapore to San Francisco), although successful UK-based applicants are welcome to join us in our London Bridge office. Pay is $300 USD per day.
